Before you send

How to prepare your files

Follow these 4 steps so your master turns out its best. A badly exported file limits what we can do in the final stage.

1. Export at maximum quality

Export your mix and acapella as WAV or AIFF, 24-bit, at the same sample rate as your project (44.1 / 48 / 96 kHz). No MP3.

2. Leave headroom

Peak level should sit between −6 dB and −3 dB. Remove any limiter or clipper from the master bus. Creative processing on individual channels is fine.

3. Separate files

Send two files: INSTRUMENTAL (no vocals) and ACAPELLA (lead + backing vocals already mixed), both starting from the exact same point.

4. Upload to the cloud

Upload the files to WeTransfer, Google Drive or Dropbox. Name the folder as: ARTIST - SONG. Paste the link in the form below.

Quick checklist before sending

WAV / AIFF, 24-bit, same sample rate as your project
Peak between −6 dB and −3 dB, no limiter on the master
Two files: INSTRUMENTAL and ACAPELLA, same start point
Naming: ARTIST - SONG - INSTRUMENTAL.wav / ACAPELLA.wav

How to prepare your mix in Pro Tools

Follow these steps to send your stems from Pro Tools. Well-organized stems make for a better and faster mix.

1. Consolidate and export each track

Select all your tracks and use Clip ▸ Consolidate Clips. Export each one from bar 1 to the end, as WAV 24-bit at the same sample rate as your project.

2. Name each track clearly

Use clear, consistent names: Kick, Snare, OH-L, OH-R, Bass, Gtr L, Gtr R, Lead Vox, BV. No accents or special characters.

3. Send dry tracks or print them

Bypass or print (Track ▸ Commit) your plugins. If you want to keep creative compression or EQ, print it into the file; send the rest unprocessed.

4. Zero point and tempo

All tracks must start at bar 1 (bar 1 | beat 1). Tell us the BPM and the key. Export a reference file with your rough mix.

5. Organize and upload

Group tracks into folders (Drums, Bass, Guitars, Vocals…). Upload the ZIP to WeTransfer, Google Drive or Dropbox. Name: ARTIST - SONG - STEMS.

6. Send the session with Save Copy In

Use File ▸ Save Copy In to create a copy of the project with ALL audio embedded. Make sure no clip is offline (empty or missing) before zipping and uploading the full folder.
